Beth Fachnie will be speaking in the Garfield Disher Room of the Library at 8:00 p.m. on the subject of "What is Different about the Baha'i Faith?."  Her talk will centre about the concept that mankind is approaching the end of its turbulent adolescence and entering its adult years.  All welcome.

WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT THE BAHA'I FAITH?

On Wednesday, April 14, Beth Fachnie will be speaking at the Garfield Disher Room of the Library at 8:00 on the following subject:  Baha'is believe that humanity is at a very exciting and critical stage in its maturity; that as a collective people on this planet we are approaching the end of our turbulent adolescence and are entering our adult years. The wars, hatreds and injustices are the final signs and symptoms of mans rebellion against the Creator; the darkest time before the dawn. It is the beginning of the Age when all the inhabitants of the earth will recognize their spiritual reality and the essential oneness and connectedness of all people.

 

To guide humanity in the principles, concepts and practicalities of administering to a world community, God has once again sent a Divine Educator, Baha'u'llah, who has given over a hundred volumes of Revelation. Be not careless of the virtues with which ye have been endowed, neither be neglectful of your high destiny, He has warned humanity. For world peace is not only possible, but inevitable. It is the next stage in the evolution of the planet. Soon will the present-day order be rolled up, and a new one spread out in its stead.

 

This talk will offer insights into the Baha'i teachings for personal and social transformation in the context of the process of the progressive religious unfoldment of Gods purpose for mankind. However great the turmoil, the period into which humanity is moving will open to every individual, every institution, and every community on earth unprecedented opportunities to participate in the writing of the planet's future.

 

Beth Fachnie is a long time Baha'i and has served at both the local and provincial levels of Baha'i administration. She is a nurse by profession, wife, and mother of two grown children.
